Your documents.
Your rules.

Share contracts, IDs and other private files with exactly the people who need them. Set when each one expires and how many times it can be viewed, and take access back at any time.

How it works

From your phone to theirs, on your terms.

Four steps, and you stay in charge the whole way. Files leave your phone already encrypted, and nothing opens until the server checks your rules.

1

Encrypt on your phone

Pick a PDF, JPG or PNG. It gets its own AES-256 key and is encrypted before anything uploads.

2

Set the rules

Choose when it expires, how many views each person gets, and what the watermark shows.

3

Share with people, or a link

Invite people by email, or send a link or QR code that can expire and cap who joins.

4

Stay in control

Turn access off in one tap, and see every opening, page view and screenshot attempt.

Try it

Set the rules. See what they see.

Change the rules, let a day or two pass, and open the document the way your recipient would. This is a preview in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Opening it asks the server first.

Asking the server…
  • Sam was invited
  • Sam's email is confirmed
  • Access is still on
  • It hasn't expired
  • Sam has views left

Document closed

Vaulto closes documents when you leave the app.

You've used all your views for this document.

Security

Built so your rules hold.

Protection happens in three places: on your phone, on the server, and in the viewer. And we're upfront about what no app can do.

1On your phone

Encrypted before it leaves

A fresh AES-256 key for every file. Only the encrypted version is uploaded, and it's decrypted in memory when someone views it, never saved as a readable file.

Q3-board-deck.pdf2.4 MB · readable, only on your phone

2On the server

Checked every time it's opened

The file's key is only released after the server, using its own clock, confirms:

  • They were invited
  • Their email is confirmed
  • Access wasn't turned off
  • It hasn't expired
  • They have views left
Key released, view logged
3In the viewer

Seen only inside Vaulto

Documents open in Vaulto's own viewer, which guards them for as long as they're on screen.

  • No screenshotsBlocked and logged, and the page hides while the screen is being recorded.
  • Closes when they leaveSwitching to another app closes it, and so does the moment it expires.
  • A watermark that followsTheir email, the time, a device ID and the page, drifting across every page.
  • Pages, not textShown as images of each page, so there's nothing to select or copy out.
  • Modified phones flaggedRooted or debugged devices may appear in your activity log. Best-effort check, not proof.

What no app can prevent

Worth knowing before you share, so you can decide what belongs in Vaulto.

A photo of the screenNothing stops a camera. The watermark makes such a leak traceable to the person and device.
A modified appSomeone with a tampered app could keep a document they were allowed to open.
The service operatorFile keys are stored on our server, encrypted, so the operator could technically decrypt files. We don't look at them.
Activity

Know exactly what happened.

Every upload, share, open and close is recorded by the server. Screenshot attempts and app switches are reported by the viewer's app. Only you can read the log.

    Got a Vaulto link?

Someone shared a document with you.

Vaulto documents only open inside the app, so the link on its own never shows the file. Three steps and you're in.

The server checks your access every time the document is opened, so only the people it was shared with can see it.

    1. 1

      Install Vaulto

Get it from Google Play on your Android phone.

      Android 8.0 or newer
    2. 2

    FAQ

    Good questions.

Straight answers about privacy, sharing and plans.

Still have a question? Write to support@vaulto.pro, or read what we store and your rights in the privacy policy.

Your file is encrypted on your phone, so what we store is ciphertext. Its key is stored on our server too, itself encrypted, so it can be released to the people you allow. That means the service operator could technically decrypt files. We don't look at them, and we'd rather tell you plainly than promise something we can't.

Not inside Vaulto. The viewer blocks screenshots and screen recordings, and attempts show up in your activity log. Nothing can stop a camera, so every page carries a watermark with their email, the time and their device.

An Android phone with Vaulto, and an account using the email address you invited, confirmed from their inbox. Documents only open inside the app.

You can give each person from 1 to 1000 views, or set a per-person limit on a link. Every time they open the document counts. A view is counted when access is granted. If a download is interrupted, trying again can use another view.

Only you can open it. If someone is viewing it at that moment, it closes. Extend the expiry to restore access; expired documents are deleted 7 days after they expire.

Yes. Remove a person or turn access off for everyone, and the server refuses their next open. A document that's already open closes within about 30 seconds, because the viewer keeps checking. Revoking a link stops anyone new from joining with it; people who already joined keep access until you remove them.

Yes. The free plan includes 10 documents, files up to 20 MB and 512 MB of sharing a month. Vaulto Pro raises that to 100 documents, files up to 45 MB and 10 GB a month. It's a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play that you can cancel at any time.

PDF, JPG and PNG files, up to 20 MB each on Free or 45 MB on Pro. PDFs are shown page by page, with pinch to zoom.

Your lists stay on your phone and uploads wait for a connection. Opening a document always needs the internet, because that's where your rules are checked.

Vaulto is available for Android 8.0 and newer.
